2023-2024 Session of the General Assembly begins January 2

The 2021-2022 Legislative Session ended on November 30, 2022. The new Governor and Lt. Governor will be sworn in on January 17, 2023. We will see 50 new state legislators in the 207th Legislative Session of the General Assembly which begins on Tuesday, January 2, 2023.

· 2 new state Senators (1 R and 1 D)
· 48 new state Representatives (23 R and 25 D)

In 2024, the Underground Utility Line Protection Act (811 PA One Call law) will sunset, so legislative work by the PA One Call System has begun in the Designers, Construction, USERS GUIDE, and Legislative groups meeting to discuss future improvements to the law. Now is the time to become active with the PA One Call System’s various committees and task force meetings. The more contractor voices the better the discussion to defend the situations you encounter in the field. My door is always open to hearing constructive ideas to improve damage prevention.
